They fit existing fixtures but are being replaced by LEDs due to efficiency drives, though older fluorescent versions are still around and need proper disposal due to mercury content.

Key Characteristics

Size: “T8” means a tubular shape, 8/8ths of an inch (1 inch or ~26mm) in diameter, making them slimmer than older T12 lamps.

Usage: Excellent for large areas needing consistent, bright light, such as supermarkets, offices, garages, and schools.

Technology
