T8 lamps are tubular fluorescent and LED light bulbs that are 1-inch in diameter, with the “T” standing for “tubular” and the “8” referring to the diameter in eighths of an inch.

They are energy-efficient, commonly used in commercial and residential settings, and available in various lengths and color temperatures. Modern LED T8s offer significant energy savings and longer lifespans compared to older fluorescent versions, with options for “plug-and-play” or more efficient ballast-bypass installations.

1-10V dimming is an analog lighting control system that uses a low-voltage DC signal, from 1 to 10 volts, to control the brightness of LED fixtures. At \(10\)V, the lights are at full brightness, and at \(1\)V, they are at their dimmest setting (about \(10\%\)).

The system has a linear relationship between voltage and light output, so \(5\)V results in approximately \(50\%\) brightness. It’s a simple and reliable method suitable for applications like commercial offices, schools, and residential settings.
