Constant Voltage TRIAC LED drivers convert standard mains AC voltage into a stable 12V or 24V DC output. They are designed to work with traditional wall-mounted dimmer switches (leading and trailing edge), allowing you to smoothly adjust LED brightness without needing extra control wiring or specialized smart home hubs.

Key Features & Benefits

Mains Compatibility: They use TRIAC (phase-cut) technology, making them perfect for retrofitting existing domestic lighting setups since they connect directly to standard dimmer switches.

No Extra Control Wires: Because the dimming signal travels over the existing AC mains power, you don’t need to run additional signal cables (unlike 0-10V or DALI dimming systems).

Stable Power: By outputting a fixed voltage (typically 12V or 24V), they are ideal for LED strips and modules where individual LEDs are wired in parallel and contain their own built-in resistors.

How to Choose the Right Driver

Match the Voltage: Check your LED lighting. If your LED strip requires 12V, you must use a 12V driver. If it requires 24V, you must use a 24V driver.

Calculate Wattage: Calculate the total wattage of the LEDs you are connecting. It is recommended to leave a 10% to 20% buffer. For example, if your LED strip uses 40W, a 50W Constant Voltage LED Driver is an ideal match.

Check Dimmer Compatibility: While most modern drivers work with both leading and trailing edge dimmers, always verify the dimmer type. Some older or lower-cost TRIAC drivers might have a minimum load requirement, which could cause flickering if not enough lights are connected to the same circuit.
