LC43MINI-CC-300-1050 LED driver is suited for built-in usage in luminaires. With external strain relief (LC-SR-MINI, LC-SR-MINI-B or LC-SR-MINI-LOOP), independent use is possible too.
In order to have safe and reliable LED driver operation, the LED luminaires will need to comply with the relevant standards and regulations (e.g. IEC/EN 60598-1). The LED luminaire shall be designed to adequately protect the LED driver from dust, moisture and pollution.
The luminaire manufacturer is responsible for the correct choice and installation of the LED drivers according to the application and product datasheets. Operating conditions of the LED drivers may never exceed the specifications as per the product datasheet.
Installation & operation
Maximum ambient and tc temperature:
• For built-in components inside luminaires, the ta ambient temperature range is a guideline given for the optimum operating environment. However, integrator must always
ensure proper thermal management (i.e. mounting base of the driver, air flow etc.) so that the tc point temperature does not exceed the tcmaximum limit in any circumstance.
• Reliable operation and lifetime is only guaranteed if the maximum tc point temperature is not exceeded under the conditions of use.
Current setting via DIP switch
LC43MINI-CC-300-1050 LED driver features a constant current output adjustable via DIP switch combinations
• For the combination/current values, refer to the table on page 3.
• Only the DIP switch settings presented in the table must be used.
Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCB)
• Type-C MCB’s with trip characteristics in according to EN 60898 are recommended.
• Please see more details in “MCB information” document in each driver product page in “downloads & links” section.
Constant current LED drivers with DIP switches allow for flexible, on-site adjustment of output current (measured in mA) to match various LED fixtures, ensuring optimal brightness and longevity. These versatile, often dimmable (TRIAC or DALI) drivers typically support multiple current settings (e.g., 350mA to 700mA or 1050mA) in one unit.
Key Features and Benefits
Adjustable Output: Small DIP switches, usually located under a terminal cover, allow installers to select specific current levels (e.g., 250mA, 350mA, 500mA, 700mA) to suit the load.
Versatility: One driver can be used for different applications (downlights, panels, spotlights) by simply changing the switch settings, reducing inventory for contractors.
Protection: These drivers often include built-in protections against overloads, short circuits, and overheating.
Dimming Compatibility: Many models are compatible with TRIAC, DALI, or other dimming systems, allowing for smooth light adjustment.
Wide Range: Some models offer a broad range, such as 150mA to 1050mA with 16 different output options.
Common Applications
Commercial Lighting: Used in offices, retail, and hotels for tailored lighting levels.
Retrofitting: Ideal for upgrading existing LED installations to dimmable systems.
Mixed Projects: Useful when the exact LED fixture specifications are not finalized before ordering the driver.
Technical Considerations
Matching Load: It is critical to ensure the selected current (mA) and the required voltage range of the driver match the LED fixture, as mismatching can cause poor performance or damage.
Installation: Switches should be set according to the manufacturer’s diagram before powering on the fixture.
