Description
ELP LM700D
LED maintained DALI/Self-Test emergency control gear
The ELP LM range provides maintained (mains and emergency) operation of single high power LEDs (or up to 4 connected in series).
The LM range can be connected to a DALI system, or can function in a stand-alone Self-Test mode.
The control gear incorporates an LED driver circuit, integral charger and a high temperature Nickel Cadmium battery. In the event of a mains failure, the control gear operates the LED (or string of LEDs) at the full light output, for a duration of 3 hours.
The LM range can switch the high power LEDs on and off in mains operation using the switch live input, the range is also DALI switchable in mains operation, if the switched live is present.
The LM control gear is designed for ease of installation offering compact dimensions and push wire terminals.
They are also available with cable restraints providing an ideal solution for independent control gear.
In Self-Test mode the function and duration tests will take place at randomised times. NB: If required, testing can be programmed to occur at a designated time by turning the unswitched supply off and on 3 times in 10 seconds at the required time.

Maintained low-power LED emergency equipment provides continuous illumination, acting as standard lighting, while automatically switching to battery power during outages. These highly efficient, low-energy units (often <5W for bulkheads) feature long-lasting LEDs, reducing energy costs and maintenance, with 3-hour backup durations.
Key Aspects of Maintained Low-Power LED Emergency Equipment:
Operation: They remain illuminated at all times, using the same LEDs for normal and emergency power.
Low Power Consumption: LED technology allows for significantly reduced energy consumption compared to traditional fluorescent, often keeping consumption below 5W in bulkhead scenarios.
Automatic Switching: Integrated high-temperature battery packs (NiCd or NiMH) and intelligent chargers automatically activate during power failure.
Applications: Ideal for public areas, cinemas, shopping centers, and exit routes where constant illumination is required for safety.
Testing and Control: Often available with DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) or self-test functionality, allowing for efficient monitoring and compliance checks.
Flexibility: While designed to be maintained, many units can be wired as non-maintained if necessary.
Lifespan: The LEDs used often last for the entire lifespan of the device, cutting down on maintenance costs for bulb replacements.
