A non-dimmable constant voltage LED driver is a power supply that converts mains AC voltage (usually 230V) into a safe, steady 12V or 24V DC output. It maintains this fixed voltage regardless of the electrical load, is not compatible with standard wall dimmers, and is designed for simple, static on/off lighting.

Key Characteristics

Fixed Output: These drivers provide a steady 12V or 24V DC output.

No Dimming: They are designed for standard on/off switching. Using them with a mains dimmer switch can damage the driver or cause extreme flickering.

Parallel Wiring: Loads must be wired in parallel. This means all positive wires are connected together, and all negative wires are connected together.

Common Applications

LED Strip Lights: This is the most common use. If your tape is labeled as 12V or 24V, a constant voltage driver is required.

Under-Cabinet and Shelf Lighting: Used extensively for static, non-dimming task lighting.

Multi-Channel RGB/Colour-Changing Strips: For colour-changing or tunable-white strips, non-dimmable drivers are preferred because dimming and colour blending are handled by an external LED controller, not the driver itself.
