BCC 122 Common Data

Rated Voltage 220 ÷ 240 V
Operating range 198 ÷ 264 V
DC Voltage 176 ÷ 264 V
Frequency 0…50/60 Hz
Lamp 1x22W T-R5 1x21W-28W TC-DD

BCC 122 Protective Functions:

Voltage: c.c. from 198 to 250 V, c.a. from 220 to 240 V (±10%);
Over voltage:
Vac = 320 V – 48h with and without lamp;
Vac = 350 V – 2h with and without lamp;
Vac = 388 V – 10 sec.;

Low voltage:
Vac = 176 V – 2h;
Vdc = 176 V – 2h.

Switch-off caused by broken or dead lamp.

The BCC 122 electronic ballast constantly verifies that the lamps absorb current and that their voltage is in the permitted field. When a malfunction is detected the ballast automatically excludes the connected lamps and goes into stand-by.

Self-restart.

When attached to the electric mains the electronic ballast does not start until the lamps are connected to the output terminals. When the lamp is replaced the ballast automatically restarts with pre-heating.

2D 4-pin ballasts (typically GR10q base) are electronic components that regulate voltage and current for 4-pin compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), commonly used in bulkhead, bathroom, and kitchen fixtures. They provide instant starting, eliminate flickering/buzzing, and are often compatible with 16W-55W lamps. These ballasts can be replaced with, or used to run, 4-pin LED 2D retrofit bulbs.

Key Aspects of 2D 4-Pin Ballasts

Function: Specifically designed for 4-pin lamps, which have an external starter (unlike 2-pin lamps with internal starters).

Compatibility: Essential for high-frequency (HF) electronic systems, though some can work with magnetic, they are primarily for electronic, to provide stable light and longer life.

Installation: Involve mounting, usually in confined spaces, to power 2D lamps (16W, 28W, 38W, 55W).

LED Transition: When upgrading to LED, many 4-pin ballasts are compatible with “plug-and-play” LED replacements, requiring no re-wiring.

Safety Features: Often include end-of-life detection for safety.

2D HF (High-Frequency) bulkheads are energy-efficient, durable light fittings designed for both commercial and domestic, indoor/outdoor applications. Commonly used for security or amenity lighting, they feature a 2D 4-pin fluorescent lamp, high-frequency ballast for flicker-free operation, and typically IP44/IP65 ratings for weather resistance.

Key Features and Specifications:

Lamp Type: Uses 16W, 28W, or 38W 2D 4-pin lamps, which provide a wide light distribution, often with a 3500K colour temperature.

High-Frequency Ballast (HF): Ensures instant, flicker-free starting, quieter operation, and increased lamp life compared to traditional magnetic ballasts.

Design & Durability: Available in round or square shapes with polycarbonate bases and opal or prismatic diffusers for reduced glare. Typical IP ratings include IP44 (splash-proof) and IP65 (water-resistant) for exterior use.

Installation: Suitable for wall or ceiling mounting, with some models offering emergency or dusk-to-dawn sensor options.

Power: Usually operates on 220-240V, often with a high power factor (e.g., 0.9).
