Technology Features
SmartCharge™ applies an intermittent charging duty cycle designed for use with NiMH batteries. This provides energy efficient charging maintenance, reduced operating temperatures and optimum service life of NiMH batteries.
9005342 Batteries
ELEDD MIDI 55 is available with a range of rechargeable battery options. For details on compatible batteries, see the compatibility chart on the final page of this datasheet. For 1 hour emergency operation, please contact Mackwell for further details.
Mackwell offers end caps with all battery sticks and these should be securely fastened to the gear tray or luminaire body with screws. Failure to use appropriate end caps may result in damage to the luminaire or wiring during transport, installation and operation.
ELEDD MIDI 55 is available with the following technology options:
9005342 Standard
For applications where self-testing is not required or suitable, the option provides the same quality and performance expected of products, without the AutoTest® feature.
9005342 DALI AutoTest®
Provides benefits by enabling testing and monitoring of an emergency lighting system either on-site or via an internet connection. DALI AutoTest® is ideal for monitoring larger buildings and multiple sites.
LED emergency modules are essential, compact devices that convert standard LED fixtures into emergency lighting, providing back-up illumination for at least 3 hours during power outages. They feature rechargeable batteries (Ni-Cd, NiMH, or LiFePO4) and automatically switch on when main power fails, often used in commercial and industrial settings.
Key Features & Functionality
Emergency Duration: Typically provides 3 hours of illumination.
Charging Time: Full capacity recharge usually requires 24 hours.
Compatibility: Designed for a wide range of LED drivers and loads, commonly operating in the 3-55V or 6-55V range.
Safety & Compliance: Includes deep discharge protection for batteries and green status LED indicators for monitoring. They help meet building safety regulations.
Types: Available in Maintained (stays on/dimmed when power fails) or Non-Maintained (turns on only during a power failure).
Installation & Components
Components: The module, or inverter, comes with a battery pack and is often installed within the existing light fixture (integral) or in a ceiling void.
Installation: Designed for easy integration into LED battens, panels, and downlights.
Maintenance: Features test buttons to simulate power failure for routine checks.
Common Applications
Offices, schools, and hospitals.
Emergency escape routes and exit lighting.
Retail and public buildings.
Suitable for LED T8 tubes, panels, and bulkheads
