The ELEDD MICRO is a range of micro-processor controlled emergency drivers with Mackwell’s unique Origin technology platform at its core. It provides fully compliant DALI AutoTest functionality and enables a variety of emergency solutions including directly driving emergency luminaires and integral conversions.
The Origin technology within the ELEDD MICRO system enables the driver to be pre-configured to suit defined applications. This includes the ability to be given specific charge and discharge
properties prior to shipment allowing perfect harmony of the control gear, battery and LED load.
Intelligent battery management is integral to the design, allowing optimum efficiency of batteries and prolonging life in high temperature applications.

9007001 Features
Origin 2.0 is an intelligent technology platform with dignostic capabilities that enables it to understand and control the effects of environmental factors on the efficiency and reliability of these emergency drivers.
SmartCharge™
applies an intermittent charging duty cycle designed for use with NiMH batteries. This provides energy efficient charging maintenance, reduced operating temperatures and optimum service life of NiMH batteries.
Technology Options
Standard
For applications where self-testing is not required or suitable, the non-AutoTest® option provides the same quality and performance expected of Mackwell products, without the
AutoTest® feature.
DALI & DALI-2*
DALI provides benefits by enabling testing and monitoring of an emergency lighting system via a standardised protocol, either on-site or via an internet connection. DALI is ideal for monitoring larger buildings and multiple sites. DALI-2 is the new generation of the standard that has now been extended to include emergency lighting. This improves
interoperability and in future will introduce sophisticated diagnostic capabilities. All DALI products default to standalone AutoTest when not connected to a DALI network.
LED emergency modules are battery-backed components that convert standard LED fixtures into emergency lights, providing 3 hours of illumination during power failures. They work with both maintained and non-maintained, commercial and residential setups, featuring LiFePO4 or Ni-Cd batteries, automatic testing (DALI or self-test), and simple “plug-and-play” installation.
Key Features and Benefits
Duration: Mandatory 3-hour operation time for safety compliance.
Compatibility: Designed for wide voltage ranges (110-240V) to work with various LED drivers and panels.
Operational Types:
Maintained: The light can be used for normal lighting and switches to battery during a power cut.
Non-Maintained: The light remains off until a power failure occurs.
Protection: Features typically include overcharge, deep discharge, and short-circuit protection.
Monitoring: Includes a green LED charge indicator to verify operational readiness.
Self-Test Options: Some modules, such as those listed by ELP, automatically perform monthly functional tests and annual duration tests.
Installation and Components
Connection: Installed between the LED driver and the LED panel, often using a plug-and-play connector.
Components: The kit includes the inverter/module, battery pack, and a status indicator LED.
Battery Type: High-quality modules often utilize Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiPO4) batteries, which are safer and last longer than traditional Ni-Cd.
Common Applications
- Emergency escape routes.
- Offices and public buildings.
- Warehouses and commercial environments.
