Description

Liteplan NLP/1

The NLP/1, is a high quality 3-hour switchable emergency lighting module designed to suit a wide range of LED types, circuits and applications. The unit is designed to work with lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries and is available in 2 versions, one with PCB terminal blocks, for internal mounting inside a luminaire, or a pre-wired version for mounting remotely from the luminaire where integral mounting is not possible.

The module automatically adjusts the output current to provide the best match between the battery and the load, providing maximum illumination whilst ensuring full battery duration. The module is supplied with a green charge healthy indicator LED. This range uses the latest LiFePO4 battery technology, dramatically reducing energy consumption and facilities management labour. Where space inside the luminaire is limited and the battery is deemed too tall, we are able to supply the NLP/1S/80. This is supplied with a slim LiFePO4 battery stick, ideal for slimmer luminaires.

The NLP range has been independently certified by TÜV to ensure that the product, has been tested for safety and that it complies with the requirements of national and international regulations.

Emergency LED conversion kits (or emergency power packs) transform standard LED light fittings into emergency luminaires, providing 1–3 hours of illumination during power failures. These kits consist of a battery, inverter, and LED indicator, making them essential for compliance with safety regulations. They are compatible with most LED panels and downlights.

Key Features and Benefits

Safety Compliance: Ensures lighting remains operational during power outages, crucial for emergency evacuations.

Extended Backup: Typically provides 3 hours of illumination, with some offering 1.5 hours at higher output.

Compatibility: Suitable for a wide range of LED drivers and modules (dimmable and non-dimmable).

Battery Types: Often utilize modern LiFePO4 batteries for better performance and longer life, though Ni-Cd is also common.

Versatility: Available for various fittings, including panels, downlights, and linear lights.

Types of Conversion Kits

Maintained: The LED operates normally via standard power but switches to battery power during mains failure.

Non-Maintained: The LED remains off until a power failure occurs.

Self-Test: Automatically performs required emergency lighting tests.

Components and Installation

Inverter/Driver: Switches the light to battery power.

Battery Pack: Provides emergency power (usually 2–3 hours).

Indicator LED: A green light that shows the battery is charging and functioning correctly.

These kits are often installed in commercial buildings, offices, and escape routes to comply with regulations, with many offering simple installation to existing light fixtures.
