Non-dimmable T5 High-Frequency (HF) ballasts are electronic components designed to start and operate 5/8-inch diameter (T5) fluorescent lamps at a fixed light output. By converting standard 50/60 Hz electrical main power into high-frequency currents (typically above 40 kHz), these ballasts improve energy efficiency, eliminate visible flicker, and maximize the lifespan of the lamps.

Core Functions & Technology

Current Regulation: They utilize solid-state electronic circuitry to tightly regulate the exact voltage and current supplied to the gas inside the tube.

High-Frequency Operation: Running at high frequencies prevents the rapid cycling of the light arc. This eliminates the classic hum and strobing effects found in older magnetic ballasts.

Fixed Output: These ballasts do not support dimming protocols (such as DALI or 0-10V) because they lack the control circuits required to keep the lamp electrodes hot when the supply voltage changes.
